The Company

All warranties, obligations, and liabilities described in this document are those of Skylon Joinery LTD.
2.
Warranty Activation
This warranty is automatically activated upon completion of manufacturing and is valid from the manufacturing date recorded on the Certificate of Warranty. No separate registration is required. The Company retains a record of all warranty certificates issued.
3.
Warranty Scope
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that arise during the warranty period under conditions of normal use. "Normal use" means the operation of windows and doors in a residential or light commercial setting, opened and closed by hand in the manner intended, without excessive force or impact.
4.
Maintenance Obligations
The warranty holder is required to carry out regular maintenance as described in the Maintenance Guide (page 5) at intervals of no more than every two (2) years. This includes, but is not limited to, inspection and re-coating of external timber surfaces, lubrication of moving parts, and checking of weatherseals.
Failure to maintain the products in accordance with the schedule may affect warranty coverage for the specific components impacted by lack of maintenance. The Company reserves the right to request evidence of maintenance (such as dated photographs, receipts for paint/materials, or maintenance contractor invoices) before processing a claim.
5.
Claims Procedure
To make a warranty claim, the holder must:
- Contact the Company within thirty (30) days of discovering the defect, via email at info@primesashwindows.co.uk or by telephone at 07842 510 060.
- Provide the Warranty Certificate Number, a description of the defect, and photographic evidence where possible.
- Allow the Company reasonable access to the property to inspect the reported defect.
- Not attempt any repair or alteration before inspection by the Company, unless agreed in writing.
The Company will acknowledge receipt of a claim within five (5) working days and will arrange an inspection within fifteen (15) working days of acknowledgement, subject to access arrangements.
6.
Remedial Action
Where a valid warranty claim is established, the Company shall, at its sole discretion, either:
- Repair the defective component; or
- Replace the defective component with one of equivalent specification; or
- Provide a partial refund proportional to the remaining warranty period.
The Company shall not be liable for any consequential loss, damage, or expense arising from or connected to the defect, including but not limited to redecoration costs, loss of use, or alternative accommodation.
7.
Limitation of Liability
The Company's total aggregate liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product(s) as stated on the order confirmation. Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
8.
Transferability
This warranty is transferable to a subsequent owner of the property at which the products are located, provided that:
- The Company is notified in writing of the transfer within thirty (30) days of the change of property ownership.
- The new owner receives a copy of this warranty document and the Maintenance Guide.
- All maintenance obligations have been met up to the date of transfer.
Transfer of the warranty does not extend or restart the warranty period.
9.
Third-Party Components
Certain components (including but not limited to glass units, ironmongery, and hardware) are manufactured by third-party suppliers. Where such components are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, the Company will, where possible, pass on the benefit of that warranty. Claims relating to third-party components may be subject to the terms of the respective manufacturer's warranty.
10.
Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its warranty obligations to the extent that such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, material shortages, or industrial disputes.
11.
Consumer Rights
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation. Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes your legal rights as a consumer.
12.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this warranty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13.
Severability
If any provision of this warranty is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14.
Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these warranty terms from time to time. Any such amendments will not apply retrospectively and will not affect warranties already issued. The version of these terms applicable to your warranty is the version in force at the date of manufacture.

Your Maintenance Guide
Regular maintenance is essential to preserve the beauty and performance of your timber windows and doors — and to keep your 10-year warranty valid. Please follow this schedule carefully.
Maintenance must be carried out at least every 2 years. Failure to maintain your products may affect warranty coverage for the specific components impacted. We recommend an annual inspection with a full maintenance service every two years.
Check all timber surfaces for signs of paint deterioration, cracks, or early signs of moisture ingress. Pay special attention to horizontal surfaces (sills, bottom rails) where water can collect.
Lightly sand any areas where paint has deteriorated and apply a fresh coat of high-quality exterior microporous paint. All exposed timber must remain fully sealed at all times.
Apply a light machine oil or silicone-based lubricant to all hinges, locks, spiral balances, and moving parts. Wipe away excess. This prevents stiffness and premature wear.
Clean glass with a standard glass cleaner. Clean timber frames with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or pressure washers on timber or sealed units.
Bi-Annual Maintenance Checklist
- Inspect all external timber surfaces for paint/stain deterioration
- Re-coat any areas showing paint breakdown (sand lightly first)
- Check all sills and bottom rails for standing water or moisture damage
- Inspect weatherseals and draught strips — replace if compressed or damaged
- Lubricate all hinges, locks, handles, and spiral balances
- Check that all windows and doors open, close, and lock smoothly
- Clean all glass units — check for signs of seal failure (internal misting)
- Clear drainage channels and trickle vents of debris
- Inspect mastic/sealant around frames — re-apply if cracked or shrunk
- Check glazing beads are secure and seated properly
