Prime Sash Windows — powered by [JoineryCore](https://joinerycore.com) — has been named a finalist in the Smart Factory category of The Manufacturer MX Awards 2026.
Delivered by The Manufacturer in partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the TMMX Awards have a combined heritage of over fifty years and are the only peer-reviewed awards of their kind in UK manufacturing. Finalists this year range from ambitious SMEs to iconic global brands, across sectors from automotive to food and drink.
WHY THE SMART FACTORY CATEGORY
Most bespoke joinery still runs on paper: a quote is written by hand, re-drawn for the workshop, and re-typed into a cutting list. Every re-entry is a chance for a millimetre to go missing — and in timber windows, a millimetre matters.
We built something different. Every window a customer configures on our site is a live 3D model with a full specification behind it: dimensions, glazing, Georgian bars, ironmongery, colour. That same record becomes the quote, the technical drawing and the production cutting list — and once the window is installed, a permanent Window Passport the owner can scan on the frame itself. One record, entered once, from first enquiry to finished window.
The system that runs it is [JoineryCore](https://joinerycore.com), the workshop management software we build and use ourselves. That is a digital thread most workshops of our size simply do not have.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Finalists present to an independent judging panel in September, and the winners are announced at the awards gala on 11 November 2026.
Being shortlisted alongside manufacturers many times our size is recognition of an approach we believe in: traditional joinery and modern manufacturing systems are not opposites. The craft is unchanged. The system around it is not.
