Casement Styles You Can Price
Every casement layout is configurable, and each affects the price:
- Side-hung & top-hung openers — choose which lights open and which are fixed; more opening sashes means more ironmongery and cost.
- Fixed lights — fixed panes are the most cost-effective way to add glass and light.
- Flush vs stormproof — flush casements sit level with the frame for a traditional look; stormproof casements overlap the frame for extra weather resistance.
- Multi-light layouts — two, three or more lights across, with or without a central mullion.
What You Can Price
- Size & layout — priced per m², any number of lights.
- Glazing — double, triple or passive glass.
- Colour — white or any RAL / Farrow & Ball colour, single or dual.
- Glazing bars — add an authentic period pattern.

Casement vs Sash: Which to Price?
Casement windows are generally more affordable per m² than sash windows and suit cottages, barn conversions and many modern homes. Sash windows suit Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian period properties. If you're comparing, price both — our sash window calculator gives you the equivalent figure.

What's the difference between flush and stormproof casements?
Flush casements sit level with the frame for a clean, traditional appearance. Stormproof casements overlap the frame, giving extra protection against driving rain and wind — useful in exposed locations.
Does the number of opening sashes change the price?
Yes. Each opening light needs hinges, a handle and weatherseals, so more openers means a higher price. Fixed lights are the most economical way to add glass.
Are casement windows cheaper than sash windows?
Generally yes, per square metre — casements start from £550/m² in our calculator. Sash windows involve more complex joinery and balance mechanisms.
Can I have an arched or shaped casement?
Yes — arched and shaped casements are available and priced from £700/m². Configure the shape and the calculator updates the price.
What's included in the price?
Supply-only prices include sealed double-glazed units with warm-edge spacers, PAS24 security and a 10-year warranty. Installation is quoted after a survey.
