Made in Britain. Every Window.
A surprising number of "British" timber window companies do not actually manufacture in Britain. They design in the UK, sell in the UK, and install in the UK — but the windows themselves are made in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Indonesia, or Vietnam. The joinery arrives in shipping containers, is inspected (sometimes), and is sold as bespoke British craftsmanship.
We do it differently. Every window that leaves our workshop was manufactured in our workshop. The timber was cut here. The joints were machined here. The glass was sealed here. The paint was sprayed here. The quality inspection happened here. We are a manufacturer, not an importer with a British brand name.
Why It Matters
Quality Control
When production happens in our workshop, we control quality at every stage. We inspect timber before cutting, check joints during assembly, verify glazing seal integrity, and examine paint finish before dispatch. When production happens in a factory 2,000 miles away, quality control relies on photographs, sample inspections, and trust.
Speed
UK manufacturing means 4–5 week delivery instead of 8–16 weeks. No ocean freight, no customs, no port delays. Your windows go from our workshop to your property in days, not months. If there is ever an issue, we resolve it in our workshop — not through an international supply chain.
Accountability
If something is not right with your windows, you can visit our workshop. You can speak to the person who made them. You can see the problem being fixed. Try doing that with a factory in Kaunas or Ho Chi Minh City.
Supporting British Manufacturing
Every window we manufacture supports British jobs — joiners, machinists, painters, glaziers, installers. The money you spend stays in the British economy. In a market increasingly dominated by imports, choosing a genuine UK manufacturer is a meaningful decision.
Sustainability
A window manufactured 50 miles from where it will be installed has a fraction of the carbon footprint of one shipped from Southeast Asia. Shorter supply chains mean fewer emissions. We source FSC-certified timber, use water-based Sikkens coatings, and recycle waste wood from our workshop.
How to Verify "UK Made"
Not every company that claims to be British-made actually is. Here is how to check:
- Ask where the workshop is — a genuine UK manufacturer will tell you the address and invite you to visit.
- Check the lead time — if delivery takes 10–16 weeks, the windows are almost certainly imported.
- Look for Made in Britain certification — the official marque requires verified UK manufacturing.
- Ask who employs the joiners — if the answer is vague or involves "partner factories," the work is done overseas.
- Read the small print — some companies say "designed in the UK" or "assembled in the UK." That is not the same as manufactured in the UK.
Our Workshop
Our workshop is located at Leaside Industrial Park, Nazeing, just outside London. We run CNC machining centres for precision cutting, dedicated spray booths for factory-applied Sikkens coatings, and a sealed glazing line. You are welcome to visit — we have nothing to hide.
